Calling Card Swipe Mode Access

Since October 1997, Canquest Communications (Canada) Inc. has subscribed to the Card Swipe Access Service (National Services Tariff Item 909) offered by the Canadian Telephone Companies.

Nearly one half of Telco provided Canadian public payphones are equipped with card readers, thus Canquest can enable calling cards with an appropriately encoded magnetic stripe to utilize card swipe functionality.

There are in excess of 170,000 Telco provided payphones through Canada of which more than 50% are currently equipped with card readers.

As a registered card platform provider, Canquest enables calling cards with an appropriately encoded magnetic stripe to utilize card swipe functionally at Canadian Telco public telephones which are equipped with card readers.

Your cardholders can therefore have immediate access to our worldwide network with no extra digits to dial.
